CATCH UP....CATCH ALL

i'll only say it once..dear blog, it's been too long. so a quick catch up in rapid fire sequence, and we'll forgive and forget... don't make me beg forgiveness. let's move on from this dormant time and be fruitful again!!

- the girls are excellent tricycle riders. the strangest part is pearl has a barbie bike. on the right side handle bar of said bike is attached a miniature bike. i always wondered why. pearl, in her infinite wisdom, showed me. it's a bike for a barbie, an actual barbie doll. so perched on her handle bar is a slutty, disheveled barbie with a half off tube top. so disturbingly inappropriate.

-we have been addicted all season to glee. i have, in my nerdy way, downloaded all the music from each episode. the girls can sing at request most of the journey numbers- don't stop believing, any way you want it, and faithfully. i have also been really digging "the bird and the bee" remake of hall and oates- i can't go for that. pearl, i have discovered is a pretty good singer for 3 1/2 years old. she has a pretty good ear, good tone, hits most notes! lily has one tone deaf noise she uses for all songs. she'll be good at gymnastics, i'm hoping!

-both girls can write their names. pearl can write half the alphabet and it is happy to do so on request. no one has told them that writing is already obsolete. i'll immediately expose them to a cell phone for texting and a laptop for emailing.

-HOLY SHIT!! literally! how could i forget to mention this. 4th item in at that! we are fully and completely potty trained. the teachers at school, one day, said, "PEARL IS READY!" which to me had the weight and equivelence of the clouds parting and GOD on high bellowing down, "I GIVETH THEE $1000 EXTRA PER ANNUM TO DO WHAT THOU WISHEST WITH. DECIDETH THEE WISELY WHAT THOU SHALL DO WITH THESE MONEYS!!" one week later, lily decided she was done with pull ups too. needless to say, we blew 3 years worth of diaper money on a trip to jamaica baby!! and we didn't have to pack an extra suitcase of diapers!

-little pearl decided this weekend that she should have her ears pierced. that story alone is worthy of it's own blog post.. another time. i need a bit to get over the anger, shock, resentment and finally relief. a whole host of emotions for 2 little flower earrings. lily is left unpunctured.

i'm right now watching for the millionth time, Pride and Prejudice... the colin firth, bbc version. no insipid kiera knightly for this household!

the perfect line to sum up the girls at this age....

"they have arms and legs enough between them and are 2 of the silliest girls in england."

yes, i know we're not in england.. but you get my point!
