DRINKING THE KOOL-AID

i was at a party the other day where i found myself defending my place of business, which happens to be a certain mega store with a bad reputation. i've only been there a month, but i happen to think "mega*mart" is a company which operates with integrity, and principle, moreso than any other company i have ever worked at.

it certainly doesn't hurt that in this economy it's the safest place to be right now. macy's just laid off 7000 people. i shudder to think where all those fashion industry peeps are gonna go?? the market is flooded with unemployed designers, merchants, and buyers. and forget it, if you don't live in nyc, you are SOL!!

so back to "mega*mart." they are so above board that when you go to an appointment, you are not even supposed to accept a bottle of water...and if you do, prepare to shell out the going rate of $1 before you leave. that still blows my mind! they leave no margin for accepting gifts to even give the appearance of undue influence...

government should take a page from MM's playbook....blagojevich... i'm talking to you!! pay attention!

MM also has a huge sustainability initiative. and they are doing it quietly too. no fan fare, it's not a ploy for marketing.. just doing the right thing.

yup, i've drunk the organic, cane sugar, reasonably price kool-aid alright...

apropros of nothing.. here's a pic of lily and pearl in their brand new t-shirts.. lily threw a tantrum when i tried to take her out of it tonight. she wanted to wear it to bed. i don't think real kittens with bows on their heads, nuzzling up to real puppies wearing sweaters hand knit from fluffy white bunny fur could be cuter than these two peanuts...

As Julie from Annie would say "oh my goodness" I can't get over that picture. I don't know why I just saw that now.
