TODAY I......

1) gave up the will to parent. just for a little bit. about 2 hours i'd say. it was peculiar because it was in the morning, when i'm usually fresh, and ready to take on the twins, and especially today because this was my morning to sleep in (bc3 and i alternate, every other day. it's a nice system.) but they weren't cooperating with me.. and bc3 would swoop in like mary poppins and cheer them up instantly. it was demoralizing. it just wasn't my morning.

2) finally finished a freelance project i'm doing for a certain mega baby store. it was quite a chore especially since bc3 and i were working on it together. let's just say we won't be opening up our own business anytime soon. sometimes we rub each other the wrong way. guess i need to be finding myself a job pretty soon, one month at home around each other 24/7 is not always the easiest. don't get me wrong, this weekend we mended our back deck together, and we were all like, "we're awesome, we work so well together!! we can build decks for a living!!"

3) finally trimmed the 8 foot high bushes in front of my house(while the girls were napping.) they are supposed to be "egg" shaped but started to resemble maybe a chicken instead. we'd left it for dead for at least the last 6 months, and it has made several appearances in my nightmares. the one where my neighbors all start coming around and telling us that we're bringing down the property value of the neighborhood because of our poor landscaping practices. see, we're the only, and i do mean only house on the block which doesn't employ jose montes to keep up appearances. i don't know why we remain so stalwart. maybe because i'm cheap, maybe i figure my black thumb might eventually go gangrene and fall off, and then i would finally be able to keep a prize worthy garden.... i think it's the cheapness.

4) met a mom down my block, while my girls accosted her poor son for his cheez-its. they were like paupers begging for scraps. that's us.. we just walk the neighborhood looking for new friends, and the snacks they come with.

5) checked out at 5:45.. prime time witching hour for the girls.. the time right before dinner, and then bed, when they've just about had it and i have too, to write this blog post. they are screaming bloody murder as we speak. lily's learned a new trick which she is performing right now.. the one where she jams her hand down her throat so far she makes herself gag and vomit. it's a good one, fun times for us all.

mom needs a glass of wine tonight.. maybe a bottle.
