THE BEST THING ABOUT SUMMER

i love the beach... my girls must love the beach. so far, lily is a bona fide surfer girl. pearl is your grandmother who just sits on the boardwalk watching you play in the sand. she carries a cardigan just in case she gets a chill, it's cold by the water, don't you know!!

i spent the weekend moving furniture, cleaning up after last weekends painting and carpeting extravaganza.. when we actually paid someone to turn my house inside out, tear out it's innards and put nice new ones right back in . it was a cleansing experience to say the least, cleansing like a colonic...

not 2 hours after the carpet went down in pearl's room did a dog pee on it. i say A dog, and not my dog, because i can't be 100% sure it was toby.. there were 2 dogs in the room at the time... a certain dog named sacha... i'm 99% sure it was toby, but without concrete video evidence, dna confirmation and corroborating witnesses, i can not say without reasonable doubt. so we'll just call this crime "unsolved." nothing a little natures miracle can't solve.. thank you very much, judy!!

tired and weary from dusting and moving furniture, we needed a boost. so we threw together an impromptu beach picnic thanks in part to whole foods and tobay beach. complete with bbq, smores, and summer punch... a good time was had by all! it's like we just fell out of some brochure for long island tourism!





pearl- you'd never know, but in those cheeks, she's storing 2 bbq chicken legs(bones and all), 3 pickles and a marshmallow. this kid can pack it away.
